MISSOURI INCENTIVES SUMMARY

Missouri Quality Jobs Program
Offers tax credits for jobs created in Missouri. In rural areas, 20 or more new jobs must be created within two years of the approval date. In non-rural areas, 40 or more new jobs must be created within the same two year window. The amount of the tax credit is equal to a percentage of the withholding tax of new jobs.

The average wage must exceed the county average, and companies must provide health insurance and pay at least 50 percent of the premium for full-time employees. Unused tax credits may be refunded, transferred, sold, or assigned.

Missouri Works
The Missouri Works program is based on job creation and capital investment and consists of a retention of a percentage of the state withholding tax for up to six years and tax credits which are refundable, transferable or saleable. Certain projects may also be eligible for discretionary incentives based on the number of new jobs, the amount of capital investment, the average wage, potential for company growth, the industry of the company, the location of the project, and the financial stability of the company.

Missouri One Start
